River Foyle Marina

The Foyle Marina is the city’s new marine facility. It is situated in the city centre and is ideally located for those cruising close to the Irish Sea cruising routes and the Western Isles of Scotland. The maritime visitor can explore the North West either by sea or land. Derry is the ideal gateway for visitors who wish to discover the cultural heritage of Ireland’s only completely walled city, the delights of the North Antrim Coast and the Giant’s Causeway and the rugged beauty and hinterland of the Inishowen Penninsula and Donegal.

Located at Latitude 55 degrees 00.3 north and Longitude 007 degrees 19.2 west, the Foyle Marina is 17 miles from the mouth of the Lough Foyle and provides access for boat users only. It has shore power, fresh water and waste reception facilities. Access is for key holders only and CCTV monitors in the area 24hrs a day.

On arrival in Lough Foyle, visitors are requested to contact Harbour Radio on VHF Channel 14. This channel is open 24 hours and will direct you to stop at Londonderry Port, Lisahally, where you can pay harbour dues, collect access key and tokens for shore power. Boats can berth at either side of the Foyle Pontoon. There is adequate depth with up to 7 meters on the outside and 5 meters on the inside at low water.

The Pontoon is within walking distance of the city centre, where you will find restaurants, bars, shopping,and all other facilities. Launderette and chandlery stores are also nearby.
