The port obtained ISO 14001 accreditation Environmental Management System

Waste
Londonderry Port is committed to ensuring that all port waste is managed in an efficient and responsible manner. This includes making Port Users aware of their statutory obligations.
In 2003 new legislation was introduced which made several changes to how ships using the ports in the UK had to manage and dispose of their waste. Vessels must now provide a notification of their onboard waste and a plan to discharge in port.
