Building on our success in attracting cruise lines since 1995, Londonderry Port installed the Foyle Pontoon in July 2003, a 200 metre berthing facility in the heart of the city. We now have the capacity to welcome boat owners to visit the city, and to create a platform to promote our maritime heritage.
The list of companies that have visited the port since 1995 include some of the most prestigious operators in the industry: Crystal, Cunard, Residensea, Seabourn and Silverseas ships have all used the facilities. This years cruise schedule is:
Located in the North West region, close to the Irish Sea cruising routes and the Western Isles of Scotland, The Foyle Pontoon is situated on the River Foyle in the heart of the historic Walled City of Derry.
In 1993 Londonderry Port moved down river to Lisahally leaving behind
a riverside which today, boasts luxury apartments, restaurants, riverside
walkway and now, a serviced berthing facility for marine visitors. This
facility was funded through the European Union’s Peace II Programme
through the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.
