Londonderry Port is the conservancy authority for Lough Foyle in the Northwest of Ireland. The port is the second largest bulk port in Northern Ireland with an annual tonnage of 1.7m tonnes catering for vessels up to 55,000 dwt.
The port also operates its own dedicated marine services which includes, towage, dredging and hydrographic survey.
We are seeking a Marine Officer/Master to support the Harbour Master and Marine Superintendent in all aspects of marine safety and maintenance of harbour vessels.
We are looking for a candidate who, not only has the ability to operate our dredgers and tugs both in port and on occasional seagoing contracts, but to maintain the vessels and company’s ISM, and ISPS requirements. In addition the candidate would also be expected to assist the Harbour Master in other port related operations.
Full training will be given to those candidates without the relevant towage experience.
The minimum requirement for this position would be a STCW Class 2 certificate however preference will be given to those with a Class 1 Masters certificate.
